EXAMPLES OF MOVEMENT

MOVING STRAIGHT FORWARD

You can move straight forward up to the maximum distance allowed.
The maximum movement allowed for each unit is shown in the army list.
This movement can also be performed by a group.

TURNING

Turning is allowed forwards and rotating on one of the front corners. The movement made by each corner cannot be more than the maximum Unit speed and in any case cannot be more than 90°
This movement can be performed also by a group.

TURN AND MOVE

A Unit can turn (first) and move (afterwards) for the rest of the move, but the Unit will be disordered.
This movement can be performed by a group. In this case at the end of the movement it will no longer be a group as all its Units are disordered.

OBLIQUE AND SIDEWAYS MOVEMENT

Every Unit (but not a group) can move sideways or at an angle (oblique). This movement gives disorder if performed by troops that are not Skirmishers or Light Cavalry.
You cannot perform one of these moves if you are already disordered.
You may not contact the enemy with one of these moves.
The same rules apply for a rear movement (with the exception that CL and S can move to rear even if already disordered). Turning about face is not allowed.
